According to our most recent survey, of the 936 people we asked, around 45% remembered Mother’s Day’s specific date...but well over 50% couldn’t recall. Hopefully you all have your calendars out.
That’s right, on Sunday, May 12, it will be time to celebrate the most important women in our lives--our moms! These days, Mother’s Day is about more than just moms, though. It’s about wives, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, and friends, too. Anyone who is a mother deserves to be pampered, treated, and celebrated this Mother’s Day!
Most surprising in our survey are who respondants will spend their money on during Mother’s and Father’s Day. 38% will buy gifts for both Mom and Dad with equal spending, but 14% will spend more on Mom, 16% will buy only for Mom, and a shockingly high number of people (26%) won’t buy for either!
Not quite as surprising, respondents will spend the most on their own mothers. I guess it’s in the name.
But married men seem to be a different case, with the majority of their spending (54%) going towards their wives.
While most women say their S.O. is the best gift on Mother’s Day, that’s only by a slim majority. The rest of respondents want a romantic night out, flowers, chocolates, a spa day, or a gift card.
Funny enough, husbands seem to understand what to do: nearly 50% will be purchasing flowers, a dinner out, day spa packages, and gift cards. But a large majority (26%) will be buying a personalized gift. Hopefully the women in their lives will appreciate the sentimental quality of those kinds of gifts too.
As for the moms in their lives, personalized gifts and flowers are still at the top of the list, and a typical spend is between $21-50
