- Ancestry.co.uk advertises a free 14-day trial membership. Be aware that once the trial period is up, it will automatically convert to a paid membership unless you cancel. There are many ways to explore Ancestry.co.uk for free before you sign up for the trial.
- Open a free Registered Guest account. You will be able to construct a family tree and have access to all free databases as well as the instructive material in the Support Centre. To open an account, click on "Subscribe" at the top right-hand corner of the home page and register for a free account on the first page you land on.
- Download and print Ancestry UK’s free assortment of charts and record-keeping forms. To find them, scroll to the bottom of the home page and look under the column labelled Family Trees. When you click on "Family Tree Template," you will be able to choose among six different record-keeping forms as well as numerous census forms tailored to the year of each census.
