How To Get a 6-Month Free Trial & 50% Student Discount for Amazon Prime

    Amazon is offering a 6-month free trial of Amazon Prime for students. After the 6-month free trial, Amazon Prime is offering a 50% discount off of Prime membership for the rest of your career as a student. To claim the free trial & 50% discount, you’ll need to be a student and meet the eligibility requirements by proving you have an active student email. You are eligible for a Prime Student account even if you already have an Amazon account. If you do not have an active student account, you can create a free Student Prime Account.

    Once you create an account, you will be redirected to the Prime Student page, where you can verify you are an active student. If you do not have a valid .edu email address, you will need to provide documentation that you are enrolled in a valid college or university by providing a class list, report card, or student ID to verification@amazon.com.

    Once you have verified your student credentials, you will be asked to put a valid credit card on file. After your 6-month free trial, Amazon will begin billing you for Prime at a 50% discounted rate (currently $6.49/month). You will need to cancel your Prime membership if you do not want to be automatically charged once the free trial ends.

    Who is Eligible for the Amazon Prime Student Discount?

    You must be an active student over the age of 16 to sign up for a Prime student discount. Amazon currently requires a valid .edu email address or documentation proof that you are an active student.

    Are Parents, Teachers & High School Students Allowed to Use Student Beans?

    Only active college or university students are eligible for the Prime Student discount. High school students, parents & teachers are not currently eligible for the Prime Student discount. However, if you have an active .edu address, you should be able to sign up for Prime Student regardless of your current education status. There is currently no other verification required other than a .edu address. If you are unable to sign up for Student Prime, you can sign up for the normal free trial of Amazon Prime.
