Ellen Davis came up with the term “Cyber Monday” with help from Scott Silverman when working for the National Retail Federation. Target usually starts its Cyber Monday sales on the Sunday after Thanksgiving and runs them until the next Saturday. Previous sales offered gift cards to the first few people who ordered plus discounts that took up to $75 off select flat-screen televisions.
Unlike other retailers, Amazon often offers Cyber Monday freebies and deals for more than a week. You'll find deals popping up around Thanksgiving and continuing all the way through December. Past deals include air fryers for 33% off and memory cards for as little as $10.
Though many know Walmart for its Black Friday sales, you'll find big deals on Cyber Monday, too. You can often pick up DVDs for as little as $3.74 and get your favorite Disney films and others on Blu-Ray for $10 or less. Cyber Monday also offers sales on electronics, including laptops and fitness trackers.
If you look for Cyber Monday freebies, you might like some of the deals from Abercrombie & Fitch. The last Cyber Monday brought deals such as 40% off almost everything on the site and free shipping on all orders. You'll also find deals on fragrances and beauty products like "get one for 50% off when you buy one for full price."
Ashley Furniture often takes part in Cyber Monday to help you avoid the long lines in stores. Past deals included 50% off all home goods with the option to save another 10% with a special coupon code. The site often offers up to 60% off all boxed mattresses, too.
Best Buy offers some of the top Cyber Monday discounts around. Past sales included air purifiers and dehumidifiers for more than $100 off the regular price along with free shipping when you spent $100 or more. You may find discounts on popular video games and game consoles along with movies and appliances.
