The Most Popular Coupons Americans Search For

Shoppers across the U.S. use different tactics to save money, from hunting for local discounts to using digital tools. We analyzed the most popular coupon-related searches in each state to uncover how Americans look for deals.

In some states, thrifty shoppers keep things simple. From New Hampshire to Nevada, "coupons near me" was the most popular search, showing a broad interest in nearby discounts. Others take a more strategic approach. For example, in Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee, shoppers were most interested in "best apps for coupons," suggesting they rely on digital tools to maximize their savings.

Regional trends also reveal what kinds of deals matter most. In the Pacific Northwest, "grocery coupons" topped searches in Washington and Oregon. Meanwhile, California, Florida, and Texas shoppers were most searching for "Buy One Get One Free" (BOGO) deals, making every purchase stretch further. In the Northeast, New York and New Jersey consumers prioritized "coupon codes," likely aiming to cut costs while shopping online.
