How To Prepare For Target's 2021 Black Friday Sale

Target is no stranger to a Black Friday sale. Every year the store cuts prices across a variety of products, allowing shoppers to save a whole lot of money.

But with so many offers and promotions, how can you make the most out of it?

In this article, we’ve got the full rundown of how you can prepare for the Target Black Friday sale. We’ve got the dates you need in your calendar, the promotions you can expect to find, and how to prepare yourself to snag the best deals.

When does Target's Black Friday sale start?

Officially, Black Friday starts on November 26th, just in time for the holiday season.

Having said that, Target has early Black Friday deals for the entire month of November, especially online.

If you head over to their website now, you’ll see the variety of deals and offers they currently have available.

They also have a ‘deal of the day’ which, as the name suggests, changes every day. So if you see something that catches your eye, get it while you can.

And let’s not forget about Cyber Monday.

Cyber Monday takes place on the Monday after Black Friday.

It’s not quite as big as Black Friday for in-store retailers, mostly because a lot of the products will have sold by the time Monday rolls around. But anything that’s left is likely to be discounted even further.

For example, last year Target knocked an additional 15% off certain on-sale vacuums, 25% off heating pads and humidifiers, as well as up to 50% off power tools.

Target Circle members also had $10 off when they spent over $50 on Christmas decorations (we’ll come back to what Target Circle is later).

So it’s worth penciling Cyber Monday in your diary, too. You might not have as much variety to choose from, but you can still bag yourself a bargain.

If you want to keep up to date with all of Target’s online and in-store deals, we’d suggest signing up to their mailing list as soon as possible. This will make sure you’re notified as and when the big deals hit the store.

Will Target Black Friday deals be online?

Yes, Target will have their Black Friday deals online. This is good news for the 90% of shoppers who’ll be doing their Black Friday shopping online this year!

So what are the benefits of shopping online instead of in-store?

For starters, it’s much more convenient than heading out to a store. Not to mention, you don’t have to worry about fighting your way through crowds to get the best deal.

Target also tends to have more options available online than in-store. There are some items, like the bed frame in the image below, that are only available online.

So browsing Target’s online sales from the comfort of your own home could be a good option this year, especially if you want to avoid the crowds.

But if you decide to shop in-store, Target has put measures in place to reduce crowds and keep customers safe during the pandemic.

For instance, users can download their app and purchase items as they shop. It’s a fast and easy way to keep people moving through the store quickly and prevent lineups for the checkout.

When does Target Black Friday start online?

Technically, Target’s online Black Friday deals have already begun.

Every Sunday throughout November, Target is dropping new discounts and offers as part of their Black Friday promotions, so you can start shopping online right now.

But even though there are items discounted already, the entire catalog of Black Friday savings will likely launch on November 26th.

As for what time this will be, there’s no information on this yet. As we’ve already mentioned, we’d recommend signing up to their emails to keep yourself in the loop.

What time does Target open on Black Friday?

We know that Target will close on Thanksgiving Day, but there’s no confirmed time for Target’s Black Friday opening hours as of yet.

Last year, most stores opened at 7 am. This year will likely be the same, but store opening times vary by location. Check the Target website to see your local store opening hours.

And don’t forget that the Black Friday deals will be online, too. So if you don’t feel like heading to the store in the early hours of the morning, you can browse their website instead.

Does Target price match Black Friday?

Unlike other stores such as Walmart and Best Buy, Target is offering price matching this year.

However, it only applies to Target purchases.

If you purchase an item in their store or online between October 10th and Christmas Eve, you can ask for a price match if the price of your item has dropped since you bought it. Providing you’ve got all the required documentation, you’ll get a refund for the difference.

To claim a price match, you’ll need proof of purchase. So whatever you buy from Target, whether it’s online or in-store, keep hold of your receipt. Without it, you won’t get any money back.

Price matching can take place at any Target store. If you purchased online, you can call their Guest Services at +1 (800) 591-3869.

When’s the best time to shop Target’s Black Friday sale?

The earlier, the better. If you leave it too long, you might miss out on some of the best deals.

And if you really want to stay ahead of the curve, consider becoming a Target REDcard holder. This will give you early access to the best Black Friday deals, as well as an extra 5% off all purchases (including some discounted items).

Here are some of the other benefits REDcard holders get:

  • Additional 30-day return time
  • Free shipping (including two-day shipping)
  • Various exclusives. These vary by location, but include special items, gifts, and offers throughout the year.

There are two types of REDcard you can sign up for — either credit or debit. Head over to the website for all the details.

What is the Target Circle loyalty program?

In addition to the REDCard, Target shoppers can also sign up for the Target Circle loyalty program. It’s free to join, and members get early access to the Black Friday sale.

By becoming a Target Circle member, shoppers also get these additional benefits:

  • 1% back on every purchase
  • Free trials of Apple TV and Apple Music
  • Personalized discounts and coupons based on your shopping habits
  • Ability to cast votes for local nonprofits to receive charitable donations from Target

For full details about the membership, take a look at Target’s website.

What were Target's best Black Friday 2020 deals?

Let’s take a look at some of the best deals from Target’s Black Friday sale last year. This will give you an idea of the new deals we can expect in 2021.

  • You got a $20 Target gift card with the purchase of $100 worth of Apple gift cards.

What can we expect from Target's Black Friday sale this year?

Based on last year’s sale and the discounts we’ve seen so far throughout November, we can expect a variety of deals across a large range of products.

Unfortunately, the 2021 Target Black Friday ad isn’t available yet (you can check out the full 2020 Black Friday discount ad). Without this information, we can’t know the full extent of their sale.

If there’s something in particular that you want, we’d suggest tracking it online. That way, you can check in on the pricing and make a purchase when the product is at its cheapest.

Target has a great way for shoppers to keep track of their favorite items. In the image below, the heart icon allows you to save products to your Target account. This will make it easier to keep on top of price changes if items get discounted.

So even if we don’t know exactly what items will be going into the Black Friday sale, you can monitor your favorite items to get first dibs if they do.
